VIDEO

This video presentation shows the working principle of the self-cleaning heat exchanger in a plexi-glass bundle equipped with 37 tubes with an inner diameter of 32 mm and a tube length of 6 m. The particles used are made of chopped stainless steel wire with a diameter of 2 mm. The volume flow of the water at room temperature passing through the bundle is 100 m³/h, which corresponds with a water velocity in the tubes of 0.9 m/s, while the porosity of the fluidized beds in the tubes is approximately 95%.

For confidentiality reasons, the latest design of the separator and the control channel are not shown in this video. The separator shown in this video is a cyclone, which was used up to a few years ago.

The main purpose of this video is to show that indeed a very good even distribution of particles over all the tubes can be achieved. As a matter of fact, the quality of the even distribution is independent on the number of parallel tubes.
